                 Abstract:Discflowchannelstructureisanimportantfactoraffectingtheperformanceofdiscfilters.To
                 improvethehydraulicpropertyandworkingperformanceofthediscfilters ,anewtypeofdiscfilterwith
                 adiscretechannelstructurewasdesignedanditsperformancewasthencomparedwiththatoftheconven
                 tionallineardiscfilter.Theheadloss ,sedimentinterceptionrate,sedimentremovalrate,sedimentparti
                 clesizedistributionofthesetwotypesoffiltersweremonitoredvialaboratoryphysicalmodeltest.There
                 sultsshowedthatundertheconditionofclearwater ,themaximumheadlossofthenoveldiscfilterand
                 conventionaldiscfilterwas2.34mand3.46mrespectively,theformerwas32.3% ~50.0% lowerthan
                 thelatter.Undertheconditionofsandywater ,theperformanceofsedimentinterceptionofthesetwo
                 typesoffilterswerenegativelycorrelatedwiththeflowrater,i.e.,thelargertheflowrate,thelessthe
                 sedimentinterceptionofthefilters ;theaveragesedimentremovalrateofthenovelfilterwas18.94%,
                 whereasthatoftheconventionalfilterwas15.15%.Furthermorethenoveldiscfilterperformedbetterat
                 finegrainedsedimentinterceptionwithalongereffectivefilteringcycleandlowerpeakwaterheadloss.
                 Overall ,thehydraulicpropertyandfiltrationperformanceofthediscretediscfilterarebettercompared
                 withtheconventionallineardiscfilter.
