                 Abstract:Inordertostudytheinfluenceofthestructureofhighfillloessonitsstrengthanddeformation
                 characteristicsunderunconfinedcompression,takingtheloessofahighfillsiteinYan’anNewAreaas
                 theresearchobject,wecarriedoutaseriesofunconfinedcompressivestrengthtestsofundisturbedloess
                 andremoldedloessunderdifferenttestconditions.Weinvestigatedtheinfluenceofwatercontentand
                 compactnessonthechangelawandmechanicalpropertiesoftheloessstructure ,andthenestablisheda
                 mathematicalmodelthatcanreflecttheinterplaybetweentheinitialstructuralparametersandcompressive
                 strengthofundisturbedloessandremodeledloess.Thefindingsshowthatwiththeincreaseofwatercon
                 tentorthedecreaseofcompactness ,thestress-straincurveoftheloesschangesfrom“steep”to“sta
                 ble ”,thepeakcharacteristicstrengthdecreasesandmovesbacktowardstheendofthecurve;however,
                 thepeakpointofstructuralparameterstraincurvedecreasesandmovesforward.Theplasticityindexcan
                 beusedasacriticalvalueindicatorthataffectstheinitialstructuralparameterchange,whenthewater
                 contentislessthanthevalueofplasticlimit,asmallstraincanleadtostructuralenhancementandvice
                 versa.Withtheincreaseofwatercontent ,theinitialstructuralparameterdecreasesnonlinearlybutthe
