Abstract:Inordertoexplorethemicrobialmechanismoftreatmenteffectchangesaffectedbyironrich
mediainthebiologicalaeratedfilter(BAF)atlowtemperatures,contrastexperimentwasusedtoinvesti
gatethenumberofnitrifyingbacteriaandbacterialcommunitydiversityincontrolgroupwithoutironrich
mediaandexperimentalgroupwithironrichmedia.Theresultsshowedthatwhenthetemperaturede

creasedfrom14℃ to12℃,theremovalrateofCOD,NH —N,TNandTPinthecontrolgroupde

creasedby4.17%,4.67%,4.87% and10.86%,respectively.At14℃,theremovalrateofCOD,

NH —N,TNandTPintheexperimentalgroupwere2.35%,2.37%,10.86% and52.34% higher

thanthoseinthecontrolgroup.Whenthetemperaturedecreasedfrom14℃ to12℃,theremovalrateof
TNandTPintheexperimentalgroupdecreasedfrom45.98% and97.74% to42.33% and91.55%,
respectively,whichwere12.08% and57.01% higherthanthoseinthecontrolgroupat12℃,andstill
7.21% and46.15% higherthanthoseinthecontrolgroupat14℃.At14℃,theabundanceof
Nitrosomonadales,XanthomonadalesandRhodocyclalesinthemiddlebioflimoftheexperimentalgroup
were3.1%,2.3% and2.9% higherthanthoseofthecontrolgroup,respectively.Thedecreaseofthe
temperaturecanreducethenumberofnitrifyingbacteriainBAF,whichcanberemediedbytheuseofi
ronrichmedia,becauseitisbeneficialtoincreasingthenumberofnitrifyingbacteriainBAF,aswellas
theabundanceof Nitrosomonadales,XanthomonadalesandRhodocyclales.Theincreaseofthesebacte
