                 Abstract:Theinterfacialfrictionofcompositegeomembraneimpermeablestructuresplaysanimportant
                 roleinthesafeandstableoperationofanengineeringproject.Inordertoexploretheinterfacialfriction
                 characteristicsofcompositegeomembrane-cushion ,theindoordirectshearfrictiontest,inclinedplate
                 test,indoortowingplatetestandinsitutestwerecarriedouttostatisticallyanalyzetheinterfacialfriction
                 propertiesbetweentwodifferentgeomembranesandcushions,includingonepieceofcloth&onepieceof
                 film,twopiecesofcloth&onepieceoffilmasthegeomabranes,mortarandgravelsasthecushions.The
                 resultsshowthatfordifferentcushionmaterials ,theinterfacialfrictioncharacteristicsofsandandgravel
                 cushionwasbetter,itsfrictionanglewas5.0°largerthanthatofmortar,andthecohesionwas4.2kPa
                 higher;fordifferenttypesofcompositegeomembrane,theinterfacialfrictionangleoftwopiecesofcloth
                 &onepieceoffilmwas3.4°largerthanthatofonepieceofcloth&onepieceoffilm,andthecohesion
                 was1.2kPahigher.Indifferenttests,theresultsofthedirectsheartestwereclosertothoseofthein
                 clinedplatetest ;howeverthefrictionangleofthedirectsheartestwasabout30% smallerandthecohe
                 sionwasabout4-6kPalowercomparedwiththetowingplatetest.Theresultsofthetowingplatetest
                 weresimilartothoseofthe insitutest.Therefore,itisfavorabletochoosegranularmaterialasthecush
                 ion,andtwopiecesofcloth&onepieceoffilmasthecompositegeomembraneinthedesignoftheanti
                 seepagestructure,andthetowingplatetestisabetterchoicefortheevaluationofitsperformance.
